Although I have quite a bit of practice with making various hard candy recipes, somehow I’ve never tried my hand at making gummy candy before.
For my first attempt at gummy candies (and yet another post for National Candy Month!) I decided that I’d start with an existing recipe, rather than creating my own. I found this one from Our Best Bites. It seemed simple enough to follow, and the sparkly results were so pretty, I figured I would give it a try.
These yummy gummies contain just a handful of easy-to-find ingredients: sugar, water, and unflavored gelatin, as well as color and flavoring.
Hey there! I’m Becky. Welcome to my brand new blog.
I grew up in Central Pennsylvania, home of delicious Amish cooking. (Whoopie pies! Shoo fly pie! Pot pie! Basically…a lot of pie.) Central PA is also home to Hershey’s Chocolate, snack food companies like Utz’s, Martin’s, and Snyder’s of Hanover, and the York Fair, which features such delicacies as funnel cake and deep fried Oreos.
I earned my M.F.A. in Costume Design from the School of Drama at Carnegie Mellon University in 2005, and have spent the past twelve years working professionally as a costume designer and wardrobe stylist. My design and styling credits include television shows such as Conan, Saturday Night Live, Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, Today, The Meredith Vieira Show, and VH1’s Divas Live, as well as stints on Broadway shows and at the Metropolitan Opera. I’m a member of two costuming unions, and over the years I have dressed everyone from Al Pacino to Triumph the Insult Comic Dog.
